MARCH 9, 2013 Raising Money for Haiti Orphanages
Also this Saturday March 9, 2013 we are working with Paige Pfenniger a student from Quaker Valley on raising money for two Orphanges in Haiti, EBAC and IDADEE. This cause is near and dear to my heart. I went with my church growing up to Haiti and it changed my life. We went over spring break my senior year in high school  to help spend time with the orphans to teach them about GOD and to just simply play with them. But it was on this  trip that I learned a valuable lesson, these beautiful children were teaching us more than we were teaching them. From the second we arrived they showed us unconditional love and wanted to be instant friends and when it was time to leave they cried and we cried. The bond that they were so openly ready to make was inspiring. A bond full of trust and judgement free.
These kids are incredible and so many of the orphans have grown up with personal relationships with many people in Pittsburgh that keep going back year after year to continue those solid friendships that were formed on that first trip.

To read more about amazing things being done in Haiti you can visit The Pittsburgh Kids Foundation . They do a ton of incredible work in Haiti. They are constantly taking adults, kids, and local athletes down to Haiti to help build new orphanages as well as help Haitians start their own recycling businesses.

With that being said stop by Rosewood Sewickley this Saturday and give a donation to Paige she will be at the store from 12-3 or purchase something from Rosewood and we will give 10% of sales to The Haiti Orphanages.

A big thanks to Rachel Rowland Photography for letting me use her photos to show you the moments she captured on her trip to Haiti. If you aren't familiar with her she does weddings, couples, families and baby bump. Stop by her site and check out her incredible work!

Hope to see you at these events this week!

Freshen up your look: Our favorite hair tips!

Recently I've been so sick of my hair and in order to avoid a haircut that I might regret I've been looking for different options when it comes to styling my hair.
I know when you think about styling your hair you immediately get tired thinking about the process (or is that just me?) I typically only do my hair about 3 times a week (don't judge) because my hair is so thick and takes forever to dry, straighten, curl, and whatever I happen to be doing to my head that day. My favorite product to increase time between washes happens to be only about $2 and its none other than Suave's Dry Shampoo

Another major complaint I have is not having enough volume and this secret comes straight from your Grandmother; that's right ladies bust out those hot rollers! Roll up your hair for 30 minutes or more if you have the time and you will have instant awesome volume for the day. I bought mine for like 30 bucks at target and use them on a regular basis.

This next secret is for clarifying your hair. If you're anything like me you use a lot of product in your hair on a weekly basis so about once a month I bust out Main and Tale shampoo and conditioner..Yes, that's right I use horse shampoo to clarify my hair and trust me it is awesome!!

Hope our tricks will help you out!

Movies you should be watching tonight:

Whether you're single or taken we should all take the opportunity to celebrate this great holiday that focus is on love. And what better way to do it you may ask? Pop in your favorite Romantic Comedy and snuggle up with your man or laugh at the cheesiness with your girlfriends. Here are a few of our favorites:

The Vow: I mean come on Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams this is a win win for everyone involved.
If you more in the mood to laugh but still would like a splash of romance check out Pitch Perfect- every scene with Fat Amy will make you cry laughing!

But finally for the ultimate Valentines Day experience I say go for the gold and rewatch the Royal Wedding because honestly whats more romantic than two super attractive Brits riding in a horse and carriage?

Here's to a evening filled with love!
xoxo
